Biotic component are those type of component which is consist of basically the  all living organisms  which forms ecosystem together . The word Bio means The life or living things . There are three types of Biotic Component -


  • Producers - The producer are those organism which produces food by taking energy from sun . They are also known by its another name Autotrophs . Auto - own and tropes - making .
  • Consumers - All the organisms on the earth depends upon food for their survival . The consumer are the organisms which obtain food from producer either directly or indirectly . The consumer are of three types based on habit of food - 



  1. Primary Consumers - Deer is the best example for understanding primary consumer as they get food from plants . These primary consumer forms food for other consumer known as secondary consumer .
  2. Secondary Consumers -  The secondary consumer are those organisms who eat  primary consumer as a source of food . For example cat , dog , wolf .
  3. Tertiary Consumers - The tertiary consumer are those organisms who eat secondary consumer for their food . For example lion , tiger , snake .



  • Decomposers -  The organisms which rely upon dead and decay materials are known as Decomposers . They are also called Natural  Scavengers as they are able to degrade the body of organisms .
